International Symposium on Translation Education (4th Circular)

       We are happy to announce The First WITTA (World Interpreter and Translator Training Association) Forum on Translation Teacher Development cum International Symposium on Translation Education, to be hosted by Xi’an International Studies University, will take place in Xi’an, P.R.China, on April 27-29, 2018.

 

       While the first day Forum will be devoted to an exploration of issues surrounding translation and interpreting teacher education, the Symposium will cover broader topics on translation and interpreting training and education, which will be addressed in the following subthemes:

       ➢ Translation teacher education and development

       ➢ Curriculum and material development

       ➢ Methods, approaches and innovations in translation teaching

       ➢ Quality assessment of translation education

       ➢ Translation education and language policies

       Proposals for presentations at the Symposium are now being invited. Those interested in making a presentation should complete and return the Reply Slip attached below, together with a 300-word abstract and a short bio-sketch of the presenter(s).

The Symposium convenes

 

       Venue

       The Symposium will take place in Xi'an International Studies University (CHANG’AN NANLU, Yanta District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, P.R.China 710061), from April 28 to 29, 2018.

       Registration

       Participants are requested to complete their registration by paying the fees on or before April 26, 2018.

       Registration fee for regular participants: RMB 1000

       Registration fee for student participants: RMB 400

       The fees will include attendance at the Symposium and lunches during the Symposium. Transportation and accommodation are at your own expense.

       Payments can be made by: Cash, card or bank transfer.
